Back in 2012, the world was introduced to Beca, Fat Amy and the rest of The Barden Bellas in Pitch Perfect, the most re-watchable movie to hit theaters since the original National Treasure.
Seriously, Pitch Perfect has everything you could want in a film: a cappella puns, Adam Devine intentionally overacting, broadcasters modeled after Jason Bateman's character in Dodgeball, Blackstreet covers, Anna Kendrick slaying in the role of quirky-bad-girl-who's-also-like-really-sweet. The movie was a critical success (81 percent on Rotten Tomatoes) and commercially viable, grossing $113 million worldwide on just a $17 million budget.
So how do you build on that for Pitch Perfect 2?
Bring back the Bellas, up the ante on the overacting, throw in some international politics and bring in some star power in the form of Tobias Fünke and ... Packers linebacker Clay Matthews?
Cram all of that stuff into a trailer with an a cappella version of Kendrick's megahit "Cups" and you're all set to break the Internet (and no one even has to get naked on a magazine cover).
Pitch Perfect 2 is set to hit theaters on May 15. At least one of Matthews' Packer teammates will probably be in line for the midnight screening.
