At the beginning of this season, we launched our Sports on Earth Confidence Pool, which allows you to compete against me (and Vegas and Five Thirty Eight, ESPN's smart analytics site). The winner of the pool gets to assign me to write about whatever they would like for my weekly newsletter. And I am proud to say that after eight weeks I am 7th out of 123. But this is less because "I am smart" and more because "I'll make sure to do my picks every week because it's my job and not every reader will have time to do that." I'll wait you out, people!

Actually, we can track how I'm doing against FiveThirtyEight and Vegas. Current scores:

FiveThirtyEight: 563 (6th place)

Leitch: 557 (7th place)

Vegas Odds: 556 (8th place)

FiveThirtyEight will always win in the end, I suspect. Anyway! It's not too late to join, if you want to join: Just go here.

For now, though: Week 8! Here goes! Vegas and 538 picks are after mine. Home teams are in all caps, with spreads (via Bovada, subject to change, with points indicating first team listed) and tune-in info below (all times ET).

HOUSTON TEXANS (3-4) over Indianapolis Colts (2-6)
(-13) 1 p.m. Sunday, CBS
Was Deshaun Watson's performance the greatest "in a losing effort" game in recent memory? It's got to be up there, right?

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (7-1) over Denver Broncos (3-4)
(-8) 1 p.m. Sunday, CBS
Finding angry general managers to trade with is the new market inefficiency.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS (5-2) over Washington Football Team (3-4)
-7 ½) 4:05 p.m. Sunday, CBS
Holding off Deshaun Watson last week should have been worth two victories, honestly.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (5-2) over Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-5)
(-7) 1 p.m. Sunday, Fox
It sure would be nice to see Drew Brees back in the playoffs again, wouldn't it?

LOS ANGELES RAMS (5-2) over New York Giants (1-6)
(-4) 1 p.m. Sunday, Fox
Jeff Fisher should probably be a little embarrassed right now.

OAKLAND RAIDERS (3-5) over Miami Dolphins (4-3)
(-3) 8:30 p.m. Sunday, NBC
I know it has been a few days, but seriously: The Dolphins have a winning record and traded their only good offensive player for a fourth-round pick in the middle of the season. Go Dolphins! Yeah, get excited about your team's commitment to competitiveness!

BUFFALO BILLS (5-2) over New York Jets (3-5)
(-3 ½) 8:25 p.m. Thursday, CBS
The Bills are winning just enough games early to break their fans hearts in December.

ARIZONA CARDINALS (3-4) over San Francisco 49ers (0-8)
(-2) 4:05 p.m. Sunday, Fox
It's going to be Gabbert Time in Arizona very soon, people.

TENNESSEE TITANS (4-3) over Baltimore Ravens (4-4)
(N/A) 1 p.m. Sunday, CBS
This is a very sleepy game. Just typing the matchup made me sleepy.

JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS (4-3) over Cincinnati Bengals (3-4)
(-5) 1 p.m. Sunday, CBS
That the Jaguars are one of the bigger favorites this week, at home over Cincinnati, is the best indictment of this weird season I can come up with.

Kansas City Chiefs (6-2) over DALLAS COWBOYS (4-3)
(N/A) 4:25 p.m. Sunday, CBS
I'm probably getting the memo a couple of weeks late on the Chiefs, but still: I believe in Andy Reid.

Green Bay Packers (4-3) over DETROIT LIONS (3-4)
(-3) 8:30 p.m. Monday, ESPN
This just feels like a weird game the Lions will trip over themselves. This could have been their year in that division: It was all set up for them. The division gave you all the clues, Mister Detroit.

Atlanta Falcons (4-3) over CAROLINA PANTHERS (5-3)
(-1) 1 p.m. Sunday, Fox
Neither team can quite get it together this year .. but I still feel like the Falcons are going too wake up at some point and make a run.
