About Will Leitch

Will Leitch is a contributing writer for Sports on Earth, and he also serves as a contributing editor for New York Magazine and a regular contributor to GQ, The Wall Street Journal and Sporting News.

Prior to joining New York Magazine, Leitch was the founding editor of Deadspin, which he launched in September 2005 and guided to its position as the most widely read independent sports blog. He left Deadspin in July 2008 but still regularly contributes to the site and Gawker, most notably as a film critic. He has also contributed to The New York Times, Esquire, The Atlantic, Fast Company, Parade, Glamour and The Nation.

He is the author of four books: "Are We Winning: Fathers and Sons and the New Golden Age of Baseball" (2010), "God Save The Fan" (2008), "Catch" (2005) and "Life As a Loser" (2003). He earned a bachelor's degree in print journalism from the University of Illinois and is originally from Mattoon, Ill. He now lives in Brooklyn with his wife and son.
